Eight
Grade Celebrates
Its
a rite of passage, a time to laugh, a time to dress up, a
time to honor, a time to say good-bye. At Country Day School,
our Eighth Grade Celebration is a time to watch and wonder
how our babies have grown into such a wonderful and diverse
group of young people.

This year two young ladies represented the Class of 2010 as
co-Valedictorians. They shared the honor with a joint speech
recapping their eighth grade year while emphasizing their
wonderful teachers. They advised their peers on how to succeed
next year in ninth grade: Work hard, keep friendships strong,
have fun.
The guest speaker, Chad Lang, had been with the class last
year as a student teacher working with geography teacher Peg
Keylin. He was chosen by the class because he was Country
Days first student teacher. Mr. Lang spoke of the importance
his experience of teaching on St. Croix and how much he gained
from it. He is now teaching in Iowa.
The class of 2010 gave a special gift to Mr. Sadler to thank
him and to give him something in which to remember them. There
is nothingabsolutely nothinghalf so much worth
doing as simply messing about in boats, a favorite quote
of Mr. Sadlers from The Wind in the Willows read the
inscription.
