Dean
of Guidance Implements TCCi
Mariska
Nurse, Dean of Guidance and Student Affairs, has begun the
use of TCCi, an online resource for high school seniors
and their parents.
"The
program is an excellent source for providing information on
all of the colleges and universities that our students are
interested in. It allows me to stay in touch with each senior
and provide him or her with current updates about applying
to college. It also is a great communication tool in which
parents can stay in touch with what is happening during their
child application process, teachers who are writing recommendations
and with me," says Mrs. Nurse about the program. I am
pleased that parents and students have another reliable source
of information to help them get through the college admission's
process.
Students
are able to track their college application process, search
for colleges and look up information on those schools, get
pertinent information about admissions for each school, receive
helpful tips on the process, input their activity resumes,
organize their scholarship applications, and keep a journal
of their progress.
Parents
can utilize TCCi to keep abreast of their child's progress,
the schools to which their child is applying, help change
or provide information that will be critical to the data that
will be sent out to the schools and aid in helping their child
stay organized. It also provides parents with an alternative
link of communication to Mrs. Nurse and those teachers who
will be writing recommendations on their child's behalf.
Some of
the features of TCCi are:
¦
Course, career, and college planning activities
¦ Dynamic college search and comparison tools
¦ On-line forms to request transcripts
¦ College profiles, with data from CDS
¦ Resume of student accomplishments
¦ Scatter grams of past applications from CDS
¦ Scheduled visits by college representatives
¦ News updates from the counseling office
¦ Local scholarships and aid opportunities
