Eighth Graders Celebrate Entering High School
The
Pavilion was filled with proud parents, friends, relatives and
members of the community as the twenty-nine members of the eighth
grade class celebrated the end of their middle school years.
The featured
guest speaker was former music teacher Loren Hughes who the
majority of the graduates had taken classes from. His remarks
included:
"Don't
make a new friend at the expense of an old good friend."
"Honor
your parents' values."
"To
be on time is to be late, to be early is to be on time."

This
year's class valedictorian had only praise for her classmates,
"In this class we help each other out, because no
one succeeds alone."
Middle
School Dean, Chip Adams, spoke proudly of the accomplishments
of the class as a whole. On the National Iowa Tests, one-third
of the class scored in the 90th percentile.
Mr. Adams was also very pleased that the class logged
five hundred hours of community service this year.
The
highlight of the evening was a special power point presentation
by Mr. and Mrs. Garren, documenting the class and their
years together.
