Music to Ring in the Holidays
Our
four choirs chose selections that lifted our spirits and brought
the joy of the season to our hearts. Director Marcus Rabb led
the adorable Primary Chorus through a selection of upbeat numbers,
including “Deck the Halls” and “Santa Claus is
Coming to Town.”
The
5th and 6th grade chorus was fantastic with a medley of “O
Come All Ye Faithful” and “Angels We Have Heard.”
Traditionally,
Director Bill Bass leads his Steel Pan bands in an exciting
and foot-stomping closing to the first night festivities. This
year was no exception! The After School Pans played “Jingle
Bells,” and the Upper School closed with “Passion,”
to a very enthusiastic crowd.
This
year we had all three bands and handbells perform. Each performing
group was led by Director David James.
The CDS
Tiger Band played a medley entitled “Christmas Favorites”
and “The Thirteen Days of Christmas.
HOLIDAY
CD
CDS is proud
to release its 2nd annual Holiday Concert CD.
Included
on the album are selections from both music concerts, recorded
in November and December.
All proceeds
from the sale of the CD benefit our Music Department and have
quickly become a favorite “stocking stuffer” for grandparents
and friends.
