Students Give Time to Great Causes

The
spirit of giving was in full swing as our students and
faculty came together this semester to help people in
need.
TOY
DRIVES
Though the combined efforts of the National Junior Honor
Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Upper School
Student Council
|
and our Faculty,
Country Day was able to deliver toys to The Queen Louise Childrens
Home, Kingshill Headstart, Bethlehem House and the Womens
Coalition. Ms. Vasquez, as Mrs. Claus, was our official messenger.
RAFFLE
FOR CASA
Our first,
second and third graders held a raffle for prizes donated
by the faculty. They were able to raise over $450.00 for
this great cause. |

WALK
CDS was honored
as the team with the most participants and the team that raised
the most money!
7th GRADE
GIVES 100 BOOKS
Seventh grade students read 100 books in October and November
and thorough Scholastic Books were able to donate 100 books
to kids who have none.
PENNIES
FOR CASA
Our chapter of the National Honor Society pitched in for CASA
this year by building a wishing well. Parents, students and
faculty were encouraged to make a wish and give to this great
cause!
NJHS
HOSTS HALLOWEEN PARTY
The National Junior Honor Society spent time at the Queen Louise
Childrens Home celebrating Halloween. These 8th and 9th
graders raised the funds by selling, packaging and delivering
Boo-Grams at the school. Some of the events at the
party were face painting, bobbing for apples, a pinata full
of candy and for lunch -- pizza!
STUDENTS
DONATE THEIR ART TO CASA
Seven CDS students were selected to donate artwork for the CASA
programs Holiday Greeting Cards this year.
FOOD
DRIVE FOR MY BROTHER'S TABLE
Food was collected by the entire school for several weeks to
give to My Brother's Table to help with needs over the holidays.
