My diorama had some pine and fir trees. In my diorama I also featured the Ermine in front of his den. Also in my diorama it was winter which is when the Ermine turns white. It also showed how the soil is mineral-poor. It also featured some pine and spruce needles on the ground. And lastly it showed how the trees are close together.

Taiga or Coniferous Forest
By: Lojain Yusuf
There are two types of Coniferous Forests, there are open woodlands, that have trees far apart, with lichen growing between them. The second kind is closed forests with trees close together, with shaded moss-covered forest floors. The locations that the Coniferous Forest is found are across North America, Europe, and Asia. The climate there is cold, and covered with snow most of the year. There it rains 12 to 33 inches of rain in the summer. The temperate range is 29C to 22C. The trees there are tall and narrow, they grow close together or far apart; there are fir trees, pine trees, black or blue spruce trees, poison oak, and many more. Soil beneath trees are acid and soil is mineral-poor, also there are decaying pine and spruce needles on the ground surface. There are fewer species of animals than other forests; there are moose, squirrels, owls, tigers, frogs, and more. My featured animal is the Ermine, the Ermine is a short-tailed weasel, who are excellent hunters, they have white fur in the winter, and brown fur in the spring and summer. They eat many things like mice, squirrels, rabbits, hares, birds, insects, and any other meat they can find lying around, they live in dens.
