The
Logical Journey of the Zoombinis
Zoombinis? Zoombinis are little, blue, egg-shaped people with hair, eyes, nose and feet - of some form. Different combinations of these make a unique Zoombinis. Zoombinis can be identical twins, but never triplets or more.
Here is your assignment.
Read all of the instructions, before you begin!
You need to familiarize yourself with the game. So, for today, you will simply play the game and don t worry about keeping track of what you do, where you go, how many Zoombinis make it, etc.
Today you will need to launch Zoombinis . Upon launching Zoombinis, you will find out what you need to do to make Zoombinis software work on your computer. You will be asked to set you monitor.
Here s how you do that:
Change
your Monitor Settings on a Macintosh
1. Click on the Apple Menu
2. Slide down with your mouse and rest the mouse cursor on Control Panels
3. Slide the mouse cursor to the right, and on the submenu move down to Monitors
4. Click on Monitors
5. Remember what the monitor settings are (you ll have to change them back)
6. Click on the two monitor settings you need to change to launch Zoombinis
7. Close the Monitors s properties window called iMac
Now you can launch Zoombinis successfully (if you can t try again to reset your monitor)
When playing Zoombinis, listen to what your computer says, but if you can t hear, DON T CHANGE THE VOLUME ON YOUR COMPUTER. If you do, you will lose points for today s class. Whenever you need help with what to do, read the help screens first (the pink question mark button)
When you ve complete what you need for the level you are on, the green/white arrow button will allow you to move to the next level. Be careful, if you click this too soon, you will move on only with the Zoombinis that have complete the previous level possibly leaving some behind.
When you need to get out of the program or need to go back to a previous level, then you use the map button. Be careful with this button to, it may cause you to lose your Zoombinis that have made it this far.
