Third
graders start the morning at 7:45 by getting organized, finishing up any work
from the day before and taking individualized spelling tests, which they choose
at their own pace. Early
mornings are devoted to academics, which always includes Math
and Reading.

 | | Often
seasonal holidays provide themes for Social
Studies and Science,
later in the morning.
Time and care are given to nuturing the class as a whole group of cooperative
young people. Third graders are very social and ready to learn how to get
along together.

Parents
are a welcome part of the third grade program. They can be found as members of
the teaching team, audiences for class presentations and willing nibblers for
class celebrations.

"Specials"
are joyfully anticipated by most third graders. Children travel the campus for
afternoons of art,
music,
library,
P.E./
Swimming,
spanish,
computer and
field trips. The school day ends with a personal farewell for each student from
his teacher as children either head home or to afterschool activities.
