Senior Year Timetable

August-September

_____ Make sure that your course selections meet the requirements for high school graduation and for the colleges you may wish to attend.

_____ Decide on final list of colleges to which you will apply.

_____ Obtain application forms from all colleges where you will apply for admission, if you haven't already done so.

_____ Work on college applications.

_____ Talk to college representatives who visit your high school.

_____ Decide on test dates if you will be taking in October, the ACT, SAT, or SAT II and register.

_____ Make plans to prepare for any tests you will be taking.

_____ Investigate scholarship opportunities.

_____ Make sure you have written down all college application deadlines and test registration deadlines and dates.

_____ Plan to attend all afterschool Senior Workshops.

October

_____ Complete all college applications with early deadlines.

_____ Take the ACT, if necessary

_____ Prepare for any tests you will be taking.

_____ Give forms to people who will be writing letters of recommendation for you.

_____ Work on college applications and essay

_____ Encourage your parents to attend back-to-school nights, college nights, and financial aid nights.

_____ E-mail Resume to Mrs. Nurse.

November

_____ Obtain financial aid forms, if appropriate.

_____ Complete all application.

_____ Take the SAT or Achievement Tests, if necessary.

_____ Visit colleges for admissions interviews and tour, if possible.

_____ Attend CSS Profile workshop and plan to complete before December.

December

_____ Complete any applications that were not finished earlier.

_____ Start preparing financial aid forms.

_____ Visit colleges for admissions interviews and tours during Christmas break.

_____ Take the ACT, SAT, or SAT II, if neccessary.

January

_____ Prepare for semester tests because colleges are interested in your grades.

_____ Make any necessary schedule changes for second semester.

_____ Make final college visits and admissions inter- views.

_____ Take SAT and Achievement Tests, if necessary.

_____ Send in all your college applications.

_____ Check with Mrs. Nurse to make sure all recommendations, transcripts, and test scores have been sent to each college.

_____ Send in financial aid forms to FAFSA.

February-April

_____ Make arrangements to take ACT in February and AP test in May, if necessary.

_____ Evaluate choices as you receive admissions decisions from colleges and keep guidance office up to date on application status.

_____ Visit colleges to help you make your final decision

May

_____ Notify colleges whether you are going to accept or reject offers of admission.

_____ Take AP tests, if appropriate

_____ Study for semester tests

_____ Make sure a transcript of your final grades and proof of graduation is sent to the college you will be attending.

May-August

_____ Keep all material sent to you by the college that you will be attending.

_____ Thank everyone who has helped you be admitted to college.
