Timetables
for Admissions Process
Preparation for college is a four-year job.
Each year you will have different tasks, which you must do in between writing
papers, completing projects, studying for tests, doing your homework, participating
in extracurricular, activities, and working. You won't have too much to do during
the ninth and tenth grades; however, there are important things that you must
do almost every month during the eleventh and twelfth grades.
The college-planning
timetables in each area (i.e. Seniors, Juniors, etc.) will help organize your
time so that the admissions process will run smoothly for you. The timetables
list the steps you should be taking every year. Read through the timetables for
an entire school year at the start of the year to get an overview of what you
will need to do. Then during the year check each step as you complete it. If a
step does not apply to you, check it off. For example, not all students need to
take the SAT II, apply for financial aid, or visit colleges.
By following
the college-planning timetables, you will avoid leaving out any vital steps in
the admissions process. Although you can complete all of the steps on the planning
timetables on your own; you will find it easier to complete these steps with the
help of Mrs. Nurse, parents, and friends. Discuss the steps with them. Their experience
can help you. |
